Seven days of spring - Day one

Welcome to our new mini series, seven days of spring! Over the next week will be showcasing some of the exquisite flowers and plants that have been making an appearance across the grounds here at Rosewyn, showing us that spring is well and truly on the horizon.

Our first feature is the Japanese camellia, or scientifically known as the camellia japonica! These wonderful evergreen shrubs are native to eastern and southern Asia, and bloom beautiful pink and white flowers during the late winter and early spring. These double blossoms are known as lavinia maggi which can grow up to 12cm wide.
