“A Cornish hidden gem”
Located just outside of Bodmin, Cardinham Woods is a mixed woodland which has a wide range of different trails, perfect for walking, running, cycling and horse riding. They also have a partnership with Countryside Mobility and offer off-road mobility scooter hire, so everyone can enjoy what Cardinham Woods has to offer.
Cardinham Woods is known as a "Cornish hidden gem", and it is easy to see why when you go there and become immersed in nature, surrounded by stunning views of the valley and the stream.
There is ample parking (this is pay and display though), plenty of picnic areas dotted around, and there is the Woods Cafe, which offers freshly made light lunches and refreshments, using local ingredients.
For 2024, Cardinham Woods have set up a “Gruffalo” themed interactive trail to celebrate 25 years of “The Gruffalo”.
The Forestry England website is very useful for visitors of Cardinham Woods, and other Forestry England areas. On there they have maps, opening times, parking charges and information on activities and events. Find out more here.
Even on a cloudy day, Cardinham Woods is beautiful!
