Immerse yourself in nature & history at Bodmin Moor!

When many think of Cornwall, their minds may wander to its stunning coastline, golden sands, and inviting waters that draw thousands of visitors each year. Just a little further inland, however, lies another lesser-known type of beauty that offers a different kind of magic, Bodmin Moor. Located in East Cornwall, Bodmin Moor spans over 80 square miles of wild, untamed landscape. This vast expanse of moorland is not only a haven for nature lovers but also steeped in thousands of years of history and folklore (think the Beast of Bodmin Moor).

There is plenty to see at Bodmin Moor, and if you love adventure, this is a must-visit.

Discover the Cheesewring, a fascinating natural rock formation made up of large granite slabs stacked in a unique way that resembles a pile of cheese rounds! It’s a place of legend, with stories saying it was formed by giants!

Bodmin Moor is also home to the ancient Tregeseal Stone Circle, a prehistoric monument dating back over 4,000 years, thought to be part of an early Celtic ritual site.

Another historical landmark, the Bodmin Beacon, is an old signal tower that stands as a reminder of times when fires were lit atop the hills to warn of danger or communicate messages across the land.

Make sure not to miss the towering granite tors of Roughtor and Brown Willy, the highest points on the moor, offering panoramic views that stretch for miles. At their summits, on a clear day, you may be able to see from Looe to Tintagel.

Rich with mining heritage, you will come across many remnants of old tin and copper mines, such as Wheal Prosper Mine.

Whether you're hiking, exploring historical landmarks, or simply soaking in the peaceful, rugged surroundings, Bodmin Moor offers a serene escape unlike any other, a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical wonder!
