Hello all. Hopefully everyone had a great weekend despite the wrath of the storm!

Today’s post is all about Christmas markets that are taking place all over Cornwall during December. Attending Christmas markets is a popular activity, and during the lead up to Christmas many people will travel to their local village, town or city to browse the stalls for gifts for loved ones, or event for a treat for themselves! Markets are a great option for Christmas shopping and the best thing is that most sellers attending will be smaller businesses, so it is a great way to find truly unique gifts for the people in your life, all while supporting local. You will usually find that there will be a variety of food and drink stalls a Christmas markets, ready to serve you a post Christmas shopping sweet treat!

Here is a list of some of the Christmas markets taking place in Cornwall during the rest of December:

Healys Cyder Farm, Penhallow, Truro - Starting back in November, this weekend is the final chance to see the Christmas market at Healys Cyder Farm, with the final day being on the 15th December 2024. The farm has been transformed into a wonderland with mulled cyder, delicious food, music and crafts. Browse the market that will be full of some amazing local creatives and businesses, the perfect place to find some unique gifts or even a festive treat for yourself.

Made in Cornwall Christmas Fair, Truro - Hosted in the grand Truro Cathedral for one weekend only (20/12/2024 - 21/12/2024), the Made in Cornwall Christmas Fair is a must go to if you want to discover some spectacular products, all handmade by the people of Cornwall. The joyful buzz inside the cathedral is guaranteed to put anyone into the Christmas spirit, and with it being held on the final weekend before Christmas, it is a great option to successfully get them last minute gifts!

The Mousehole Christmas Food and Craft Market, Mousehole - Taking place on Wednesday 11th December 2024, this is perfect if you are after some midweek festive cheer! The market will be packed with some beautiful handmade products, from jewellery, to homeware. Take the opportunity to also stroll down to the pretty Mousehole harbour, where you will find some lovely cafes and restaurants open and welcoming you for a post gift shopping treat. It is a great way to spend a mid December day!

The Truro Christmas Market, Truro - Another market hosted in the Cornish City! Every Wednesday - Sunday, until Christmas Eve, Lemon Quay in Truro is taken over by festive joy. The market will be full of stalls ran by local famers and creatives, selling their amazing products. With a variety of jewellery, clothing, homewares, beauty products and local produce, you are treated with the amount of options for gifting loved ones. You’ll be guaranteed to be put in the festive spirit as the air is filled with the smell of mulled wine and music will be played in the background.

The Jubilee Wharf Christmas Fair, Penryn - For this weekend only (14/12/2024 -15/12/2024), get into the Christmas spirit at Jubilee Wharf in Penryn for their annual Christmas fair. Packed with stalls full of amazing handmade products by local businesses, it is a great place to look for some unique gifts or for a treat for yourself. Once you are all shopped out, head to one of the local pubs, cafes or resultants to indulge in a post shopping reward!

Mount Edgecumbe Christmas Faire, Torpoint - The beautiful country park located in Southeast Cornwall will be hosting their Christmas Fair on the 14th and 15th December 2024 for one weekend only. There will be stalls selling amazing local produce and unique gift ideas. There will also be lots of entertainment including cookery demonstrations, fire juggling, craft workshops and Santa’s grotto. This is a great option for the whole family to get into the festive mood!

Cornwall Christmas Market, Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge - Last but certainly not least is the Cornwall Christmas market which is taking place this weekend over three days (13th 14th and 15th December 2024). The Royal Cornwall Showground will be turned into a winter wonderland with over 130 local traders present to showcase their fantastic products. With an abundance of choice you will be sure to find gifts for everyone, even those who are hard to buy for! There will also be entertainment for the whole family, with Santa and his reindeer even paying a visit. When you’re finished shopping, you can enjoy a mulled wine and some delicious food made from local produce. Out of all the events in this list, this is the only now which is ticketed. You can buy tickets at the gate but a discount is available if you buy then in advance on their website.

As you can see Cornwall has a wide selection of Christmas markets and fairs to attend as we approach Christmas. There really is something for everyone and they are a great activity to help bring on the Christmas spirit!
